About Me

Hi there!

I’m Milena, a Brazilian artist from Sao Paulo, currently residing in Chicago.

I studied Video Game Design and Animation at the Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, then I studied Comics at the International School of Comics Chicago.

I like working both digitally and traditionally, and experimenting with new medias and subjects. I love teaching art, and I see this exploration as part of my personal growth so I can in turn, help my students achieve their own goals.

My work focuses on the internal dialogue between the conscious and subconscious mind, including themes of melancholy, whimsy, loneliness, curiosity and the quest for belonging.

since an injury to my right arm in 2020 took me away from art full time, I have been focusing on movement - got certified to teach Yoga in 2020, then aerial yoga in 2022 and personal training and neuroYoga in 2023. This quest for healthy, joyful movement has led me down a path of self discovery and self love. Surrounded by amazing people in this new journey, I am feeling empowered to help as many people as I can feel good in their own bodies as well.
